Doña Herlinda and Her Son (1986)
Dona Herlinda (Guadalupe del Toro) is a wealthy widow from Guadalajara, Mexico, who's long tolerated the unconventional relationship of her son Rudolfo (Marco Antonio Trevino) and his "significant other," Ramon (Arturo Meza). She even invites Ramon to live with them, while simultaneously arranging for Ramon's marriage. But what might be a recipe for tragedy, Jaime Humberto Hermosillo spins it into a lovingly subversive comedy of tolerance, acceptance, and keeping up appearances.
