A few years ago Jeff Compasso left behind a rigorous 7-year law career, deciding to enjoy his waking hours. He took his old darkroom equipment out of the attic and set it up for the first time since high school. He then set up a studio and started looking for nude models.

"I have always been enamored of the human form. Having been a gymnast from the age of 8 through college, I was constantly surrounded by beautiful, muscular male and female bodies. In addition to practicing a supremely challenging sport, participating in the world of gymnastics allowed me to witness the splendor of the human form as it performed feats of strength, balance, flexibility, and grace. In my book, inspiration doesn’t get much better than that!

"In my photography I try to capture the simple and pure beauty of the human form. I attempt to use just enough light to reveal the beauty of a model’s form, and thereby create enough shadow to leave some mystery. I am often drawn to details and I marvel at how light can bring out the strength or softness of a particular body or body part. I love my work!"

Jeff started exhibiting his photography at the Los Angeles Pride festival in 2002. Since then he has been exhibiting in southern California and San Francisco almost non-stop. Jeff’s work was chosen to become a part of the permanent collection of the Tom of Finland Foundation.
