DESAYUNΟ EN LA CAMA

Quiero llevarte a casa y darte de desayunar
mañana (¿y cómo no pensarlo como mañana
aunque de verdad sería más tarde hoy mismo?)
sea lo que sea la hora que nos levantamos, o aún

sin dormir, me da igual, te traigo el café y un bollo
en una bandeja a la cama donde habríamos echado
de nuevo, incansables, otro polvo al levantarnos.
Pero no sé cómo abordar el tema y tú sacas

unas servilletas del bolsillo de tus vaqueros,
me pasas una, te limpias la polla, las manos;
me miras —un momento cómplice— antes de
dejar caer los residuos mojados al suelo, como

si fuera a ensuciar este antro donde nos hemos
conocido, donde hemos consumado estas
pasiones. Tendido entre nosotros,
este silencio parece irrompible

como una telaraña: a la vez tenue y fuerte.
No nos hemos intercambiado ni los nombres;
¿cómo extenderte ahora esta invitación? Abres
la cerradura, y después la puerta. Se evapora
la posibilidad. —Un placer —me dices, un pico
en los labios y sales de allí, de mi vida.

Lawrence Schimel

Lawrence Schimel (born October 16, 1971) is an American science fiction and fantasy writer, translator, and anthologist whose work frequently deals with gay and lesbian themes, and with Jewish themes. He was born in New York, and received his B.A. in Literature from Yale University. Schimel is a member of the National Book Critics Circle and the Academy of American Poets. His is a founding member of the Publishing Triangle, an organization of lesbians and gay men in the publishing industry, which he chaired for two terms (1996-1998).

His work has received the Lambda Literary Award and the Rhysling Award, and has been nominated for the Frecracker Alternative Book Award, the Small Press Book Award, ForeWord Book of the Year Award, the Spectrum Award, and a number of other publishing awards. It has translated into Basque, Catalan, Czech, Dutch, Esperanto, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, and Spanish.

Footnote: Lawrence Schimel is also a word geek and a champion at Prolific. He has won many an acclaimed award in this venture which has brought him worldwide recognition.

Schimel currently lives in Madrid, Spain.

Lawrence Schimel (Nueva York, 16 de octubre de 1971) es un escritor estadounidense, autor de relatos, poemas y ensayos, su obra se caracteriza por la variedad temática (ha cultivado desde la ciencia ficción hasta las historias de costumbrismo homosexual). Estudió en la Universidad Yale, donde alcanzó el grado académico de Bachelor of Arts. Posteriormente se trasladó a Europa y se radicó en Madrid (España). Sus libros se han traducido a numerosos idiomas.


Premios
Schimel ha recibido importantes premios en Estados Unidos, como el Lambda Literary Award (que distingue obras de temática LGBT) y el Rhysling Award (dedicado a la literatura fantástica, de terror y de ciencia ficción).

Schimel, Lawrence

Ο Lawrence Schimmel γεννήθηκε στη Νέα Υόρκη το 1971. Είναι συγγραφέας και ανθολόγος 70 περίπου βιβλίων, πολλά από τα οποία έχουν μεταφραστεί σε 13 γλώσσες. Έχει κερδίσει το Βραβείο Λάμδα για το βιβλίο του "Challenging Assumptions About Gender and Sexuality", ενώ ήταν υποψήφιος για το βραβείο White Ravens 2005, για το "No hay nada como el original". Επίσης τίτλοι του ήταν υποψήφιοι για τα βραβεία Firecracker Alternative Book Award, Small Press Book Award και Spectrum Award. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε αρκετά συνέδρια και διαλέξεις στα πανεπιστήμια Γέηλ, Πρίνστον, Μπράουν και Γουέην. Είναι ο διευθυντής των Εκδόσεων Triangle στη Νέα Υόρκη, ενώ ζει στην Ισπανία, στην Μαδρίτη, όπου είναι σύμβουλος στον Σύνδεσμο Ισπανών Συγγραφέων Παιδικού Βιβλίου.
