Odd Nerdrum (born April 8, 1944) is a Norwegian figurative painter.

Nerdrum was born in Sweden and studied traditional, classical painting at the Art Academy of Oslo and, with Joseph Beuys, at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Dissatisfied with the direction of modern art, he began to teach himself how to paint in Renaissance-style in terms of composition and technique with Rembrandt's work and techniques as a guide, placing himself in direct opposition to the art of his native Norway. Nerdrum devised his own methods of painting founded on the traditional methods of painting: mixing and grinding his own pigments, stretching his own canvas and working from live models. His first, one-person, gallery exhibition was held in New York, in 1983, at the Martina Hamilton Gallery. Nerdrum became a controversial artist, claiming among other things that his art should be understood as kitsch rather than art as such. "On Kitsch" is a manifesto composed by Nerdrum concerning his distinction between kitsch and art.
Nerdrum, now lives in Iceland where he is applying for Icelandic citizenship. He divides his time between his home in Iceland and his farm in Norway.
