"ΟΧΙ" ΤΗΣ ΙΟΡΔΑΝΙΑΣ ΣΤΟ ΛΙΒΑΝΕΖΙΚΟ ΣΥΓΚΡΟΤΗΜΑ MASHROU' LEILA

Lebanese band Mashrou’ Leila banned in Amman again
Lebanese band Mashrou’ Leila has been banned from performing in Amman, Jordan for a second year in a row. On Monday, June 12, the Jordanian Interior Ministry formally announced its decision to stop the band from performing on June 27 in order to stop "the exploitation of such performances for certain agendas that may lead to internal disagreements,” as Interior Minister Ghaleb Zuabi said. This was confirmed Tuesday night by the band on its official Facebook page.
The ban, which was set due to the band’s open support for the LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community and sexual freedom advocates, frustrates its Jordanian fans, who never got to see the band perform its latest album, Ibn El Leil, live. These frustrations were expressed on Twitter and Facebook as soon as the ban was announced on Monday.
