THEME - " Leaving our sexuality in Peace...
Defending our civil rights and human dignity together! "
CALEM is the conference of an informal confederation of associations LGBTQI, European and Muslim. That conference shall be dedicated mainly to discuss together about our common issues; to talk about a more formal constitution between us.
That conference is organized on the initiative of the queer French Muslim organization HM2F, sustained and counseled by The international queer Muslim organization, The Inner Circle, with the participation of several sister queer Muslim organizations.
In Arabic the “Calem” is the pen of our Lord. It is also the tool human beings use to acquire knowledge and discover their destiny; knowledge and cooperation are the tools that shall make us free from violence and discrimination!
Thus, HM2F would like to offer the European associations - sustained by sister international queer Muslim organizations - an opportunity to gather in Paris next autumn – workshops, presentations, meetings. We shall talk about the best possible way to leave our sexuality in Peace; and also about the best common strategy to defend our human dignity!
We propose you to begin our journey together, so far as un informal queer Muslim European confederation, by writing together a Manifesto, short and clear, that we could easily translate and use to explicit our motivations and claim our rights.
That Manifesto could be signed by our associations at the CALEM conference in Paris. This Manifesto should be signed only by these organizations who want to be a part of this dynamic; we shall send it to key political contacts, to inform them that now, queer Muslims are standing for their rights, defending their human dignity!
That CALEM conference shall gather around 10 queer European Muslim organizations. That conference - and the Manifesto saddling its positive energy between us inch’Allah – shall be only the beginning of our faithful journey together on the way to Peace, following indeed the glory example of our prophet Mohamed.
Thus, we also would like to share with you our ideas and suggestions for what could be a common long term strategy, on solid ground, putting aside our egos and building our relationships on TAQWAH (the strength of our faith), trust, transparency, respect and true sister-brotherhood inch’Allah.
